RSFL Youth Connect 3rd Edition: The Recap

It was another busy Saturday for RSFL Youth Connect.

On October 3, 2026, young people gathered at Ocean Eleven, behind AMAC Market, FHA Lugbe, Abuja, for the third edition of Youth Connect. From the moment the activities started, it was clear that people came ready to play, compete and have a good time.

Youth Connect is held on the first Saturday of every month, and each edition brings a different mix of games and activities. This time around, participants had plenty to choose from, including PS5, Ludo, Monopoly, Jenga, Snooker, Chess, male swimming and female swimming.

There were also giveaways for people who came to the event but were not playing in any of the competitions.

Something for Everyone

One thing that stood out at the third edition was the variety.

Some people came for the gaming. Others were more interested in the board games, while the swimming competitions brought another crowd around the pool.

The PS5 matches gave the gamers their moment, with players going against each other to see who would come out on top. Around the venue, Ludo and Monopoly games were also taking place, while Jenga brought its usual mixture of concentration and nervous moments whenever the blocks started coming down.

Chess and Snooker gave participants a chance to slow things down and focus on their game. Every activity had its own crowd and its own atmosphere.

It was not difficult to find something happening at the venue.

The ₦100,000 Prize

There was also a big reason for participants to take the competitions seriously.

Every winner received ₦100,000.

That meant there was more than bragging rights at stake. Winners across the different competitions went home with ₦100,000 each after coming out on top in their respective games.

For participants, that made every match worth fighting for. Whether someone was sitting behind a PS5, playing Ludo, thinking through a chess move or getting ready for a swimming race, there was a prize waiting for the person who finished first.

Swimming Brings a Different Energy

Swimming was one of the highlights of this edition, with separate competitions for male and female participants.

The races gave swimmers the chance to compete in front of friends and supporters at the venue. While the other games were taking place, attention would shift to the pool whenever a swimming competition was about to begin.

The winners also received the same ₦100,000 prize given to the winners of the other competitions.

You Did Not Have to Be a Player

RSFL included giveaways for non-players at the third edition, so people who came to support friends or simply wanted to watch could also get involved.

That added to the atmosphere because the event was not made up only of competitors. Friends, supporters and other visitors were also around, watching the games, cheering people on and enjoying themselves.

Another Youth Connect in the Books

By the end of the day, the third edition had delivered what Youth Connect is about: giving young people a place to meet, play, compete and spend time together.

There was gaming, there were board games, there was swimming, there were prizes and there were giveaways. Most importantly, people had a reason to come together and enjoy themselves.

Youth Connect is now held every first Saturday of the month, so Edition 3 is only one part of what RSFL has planned for the programme.

For those who took part this time, October 3 was a day of competition and, for the winners, a ₦100,000 reward to take home.

For everyone else, it was another Saturday spent around good games, good competition and the growing RSFL community.

Youth Connect returns on the first Saturday of every month.
